Data Protection & Trust

Privacy Policy

At TradingBook, we value your trust and privacy. This Privacy Policy details how we collect, safeguard, and process your personal data and trading activity across our application.

Effective Date: October 10, 2026Estimated Read Time: 6 min

1. Privacy Commitment

TradingBook is built to empower traders to share market analysis, setups, and ideas securely. We strictly adhere to global data protection regulations, including the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

We do NOT sell your personal information or trading history to third-party data brokers or advertisers.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you interact with TradingBook:

  • Account Registration Data: Email address, encrypted passwords, display name, profile avatar, and bio details.
  • User-Generated Content: Trade setup posts, chart screenshots, community comments, likes, and group memberships.
  • Technical & Session Data: IP address, device browser type, operating system, and WebSocket connection state.
  • Preferences: Theme preference (Dark, Light, System), notification toggles, and language settings.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your information exclusively to provide and improve TradingBook services:

  • Delivering real-time market updates, trade setup notifications, and social feed discussions.
  • Authenticating user sessions and safeguarding accounts against unauthorized access.
  • Fulfilling platform moderation and protecting the community against spam and malicious behavior.
  • Analyzing aggregate platform performance and optimizing application performance.

Public content and search engines: Posts you publish as Public, and a public profile, can be read by anyone on the internet without an account. We make these pages available to search engines (such as Google and Bing) and to AI assistants and their crawlers (such as ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity), which may list, quote or summarize them and link back to TradingBook. Private profiles, followers-only and private posts, private groups, and posts still in review are never made available this way.

A search engine or AI service that has already copied a page keeps its own copy under its own policies. Hiding or deleting content on TradingBook removes it here straight away, but it can take days or weeks to disappear from their results, and we cannot remove it from their systems for you.

Crawler statistics: We count visits from search engine and AI crawlers by the name they identify themselves with and the type of page they read. These are daily totals about automated crawlers; they do not include IP addresses and are not about you or your browsing.

4. Cookies & Local Web Storage

TradingBook uses essential cookies and local storage tokens (`tradingbook_theme`, HTTP session cookies) to maintain your login session and store your interface preferences.

These technologies are required for core website functionality, such as keeping you logged in securely and retaining your theme choice across page reloads.

5. Data Security & Third-Party Infrastructure

All data transmitted to and from TradingBook is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS 1.3 (HTTPS).

We work only with vetted cloud infrastructure providers (e.g. secure database hosting, CDN services) who maintain strict compliance with global security certifications (SOC 2, ISO 27001).

6. Your Rights & Account Controls

You maintain control over your personal data on TradingBook:

  • Private Profile Mode: You can enable Private Profile Mode in Settings to prevent non-followers from seeing your post history.
  • Hide from Search Engines: You can turn on "Hide from search engines" in Settings. Your profile and your posts stay visible on TradingBook and to anyone with a link, but we mark those pages "noindex" and remove them from our sitemap, which asks search engines and AI assistants not to list them.
  • Data Export & Deletion: You can request a copy of your personal data or request permanent account deletion by contacting support.

7. Policy Updates & Privacy Enquiries

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When significant updates occur, we will notify registered users via platform notification or email.
