Frequently Asked Questions
What TradingBook is, how it works, and who can see what you post.
The basics
What is TradingBook?
TradingBook is a social network built for traders. People use it to share market analysis, trade setups and chart breakdowns, follow other traders, and join groups and pages about the markets they trade. Every account, post, group and page on it is about trading and markets.
Who is TradingBook for?
Anyone who trades or is learning to: Forex, crypto, stock and derivatives traders, analysts who publish their views, and communities that want one place to discuss the markets. You do not need to post to use it; many people join to follow traders whose analysis they find useful.
Is TradingBook free?
Yes. Creating an account, posting, following traders and joining groups and pages are free.
Is TradingBook a broker or an exchange?
No. TradingBook is a place to share and discuss ideas. It does not hold your money, connect to your brokerage or exchange account, or place trades for you. Any trade you make happens on your own broker or exchange, and is your own decision.
Is what I read on TradingBook financial advice?
No. Posts are the opinions and analysis of the individual traders who wrote them, not of TradingBook, and none of it is financial, investment, legal or tax advice. Trading carries a real risk of losing money. Do your own research, and speak to a licensed adviser before risking capital.
Posting and communities
What can I post?
Written analysis and trade ideas, and chart images with your commentary. Posts can be written in any language, including English, Sinhala, Tamil and Hindi. Everything has to be about trading or markets.
Are posts reviewed before they appear?
Yes. A new post is checked by a moderator before it becomes visible to other people. That is how spam, scams and pump-and-dump promotion are kept out of the feed. If a post is rejected, its author can see the reason.
What is the difference between a group and a page?
A group is a community that members post in. It can be public, where anyone can read it, or private, where only members can. A page is a publisher's channel, such as an analyst desk or an education brand: people follow it, and only the page's own team posts as the page.
Which markets can I follow prices for?
The Markets section shows live spot prices, 24-hour figures and candlestick charts for cryptocurrencies. People post about every market, including Forex, stocks, indices and commodities, but live prices for those are not shown yet.
Privacy and visibility
Who can see my posts?
You choose for each post: Public, which anyone can read, even without an account; Followers only; or Private, which only you can see. You can also switch your whole profile to private in Settings.
Can my posts appear on Google or in AI assistants?
Public posts and public profiles can. They are readable by anyone on the internet, so search engines such as Google and Bing, and AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, may list or quote them with a link back to the post. Followers-only posts, private posts, private groups and posts still in review are never available to them.
How do I keep my profile and posts out of search engines?
Open Settings, choose Account & Privacy, and turn on "Hide from search engines". Your profile and posts stay visible on TradingBook and to anyone with a link, but search engines and AI assistants are asked not to list them. Results that are already listed can take a few weeks to disappear.
Can I block someone?
Yes. Open their profile and choose Block. You can see and undo your blocks in Settings under Account & Privacy.
Quoting TradingBook
How should a post from TradingBook be quoted or cited?
Credit the trader who wrote it, by name, and link to the post's own address, which looks like tradingbooknet.com/p/ followed by the post's id. TradingBook is the platform the post was published on, not the source of the opinion in it.
